Wine Class #1: Tour d’Own Under: Premium Wines of Australia

We want to educate you about wine… come take some quick hour & a half wine courses while tasting new wines and engaging your palate! Join us Monday nights below our store at the Union Block Italian Bistro at the landing throughout this fall from 6:30-8:00 as our store manager and resident wine educator, Kyle Knapton, will walk you through 6 wines all while educating to a variety of levels of knowledge from beginner to advanced.

Class #1 (Sept. 13th) – Tour D’own Under: Premium Wines of Australia!

• Tour across the great country` of Australia and explore its signature styles of dry wines!
• We’ll taste a variety of whites and reds from the Western & Southern Australia, New South Wales, Victoria, & Tasmania!

Class #2 (Oct. 4th) – Exploring Terroir: Volcanic Wines

• Taste and examine wines from fascinating appellations with volcanic, ashy soil types from around the world.
• Explore what makes these different regions unique and similar and how these soil types make for some of the most interesting whites and reds.

Class #3 (Oct. 25th) – Trending Wines: Organic, Biodynamic, & Natural

• Learn the difference between these three trendy wine terms while tasting through them.
• Understand and explore labeling terms and legalities surrounding these wines and why this area is exploding in the current wine market.

Class #4 (Nov. 15th) – Out of the Box Thanksgiving Pairings

• For this holiday-featured class, we’ll explore alternative wines for pairing with all the accroutrements adorning our tables.
• Taste some unfamiliar and familiar local and non-local wines that will enthrall your family and friends while improving your entire meal!

Class #5 (Dec. 6th) – Tradition: Champagne-Method Wines from Around the World

• Rounding out our series, we pop some bubbles to taste in preparation of the New Year and holiday season
• Learn about different regions of the world excelling in traditional method bubbles at a range of price points, and what makes this style of sparkling wine the most famous

Each class costs $20 per seat, and does not include wine glasses; we ask that each student bring 3 of their own wine glasses. Please make sure your glasses are similar in shape and size and preferable have a stem. If you would like to be provided glasses, we have them available upon request to purchase from our store at $6 per glass.
