The harvest of the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes at our Rossi and Chavez-Leeds vineyards began at the end of September. 2018 was a long, cool vintage with no heat spikes. It was a gentle and even-paced harvest which was heartily welcomed after the challenges of the fires in the prior year. This 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon shows aromas of blackcurrant fruit, an underlying hint of earth and a dusty character that is classic to Rutherford Cabernet. The palate invites one in offering bright acidity and well-integrated tannins that make this wine approachable in its youth. Its character also hints at beautiful aging potential. J.W.
