BLOOMER CREEK CABERNET FRANC 2019

100% Cabernet Franc from Auten and Barrow Vineyards – vines from the hillside Barrow Vineyard off of Seneca Lake are approximately nine years old, the older vines at Auten were planted in the late 1990’s. The hand harvested grapes are partially de-stemmed, crushed and fermented with whole clusters added back in open top fermenters over a three week period. The wine is matured for two years in neutral oak before bottling, unfined and unfiltered. This Cabernet Franc bottling is made in years when the Bloomer’s have consistently ripe fruit to work with (as opposed to the Vin d’Ete bottling, made in a lighter style in cooler vintages). The 2019 reds are elegant and fresh, with enough structure and fruit to further age in bottle.
