Silky in texture and incisive on the palate, offering juicy white peach, pineapple and melon flavors underscored by a dusty mineral element. Despite Jorge Ordóñez Málaga’s focus on unfortified sweet wines, Jorge and Alois Kracher were inspired to produce a fresh and dry Moscatel from the mountain vineyards of the Axarquía. Botani was the first dry Moscatel made in Spain in modern times, resurrecting the tradition of Málaga’s historic “Mountain Wines.” This wine inspired a new generation of dry aromatic white wines produced from Spain’s Mediterranean coast.

100% Muscat of Alexandria. The oldest variety in the Muscat family and one of the few remaining genetically unmodified vitis vinifera cultivars remaining in the world today. The Phoenicians transplanted this grape from Alexandria, Egypt to Málaga approximately 2,600 years ago.

The 2023 Moscatel Old Vines Botani was sourced from the villages of Almáchar and El Borge in Alta Axarquía, Sierras de Málaga, overlooking the Mediterranean. This bright yellow wine offers aromas of roses, herbs and lychee, along with iron and yeasty notes. Dry, refreshing and vibrant on the palate, it lingers with a joyful, savory finish. This solar wine was harvested at the perfect time.

A bright, well-cut white, with a waft of orange and lime blossom aromas, plus a lively mix of blood orange, pink grapefruit granita, lychee, Thai basil and Marcona almond notes. A streak of salinity drives the mouthwatering finish.

A bone-dry moscatel that’s refreshingly aromatic. Honeysuckle, peaches, kumquat citrus, lime and minerals. Crisp and linear on the palate, with bright acidity, a medium body and a fresh, expressive finish. Excellent for moscatel.
