CUATRO RAYAS VERDEJO VENDIMIA NOCTURNA
$10.99
Cuatro Rayas Vendimia Nocturna Verdejo is a single-variety Verdejo white wine made by the Cuatro Rayas winery in the D.O. Rueda, in Valladolid, Spain.
The “Night Harvest” range of wines is the flagship of the Cuatro Rayas winery. These are their most representative wines. One of the wines in this range is Cuatro Rayas Vendimia Nocturna Verdejo, a white wine made with clusters of the Verdejo variety grown in vineyards over forty years old. When the grapes reach the winery, they are cold macerated for a few hours to then begin the fermentation process in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperatures.
The clusters are gathered during night harvesting, hence its name. This practice has been carried out in Rueda for years. The aim is to take advantage of the low night temperatures to avoid oxidation or uncontrolled fermentation of the recently harvested grapes and their must and to ensure that they retain their full integrity until they reach the winery.
Cuatro Rayas Vendimia Nocturna Verdejo is one of the winery’s most emblematic wines, which very honestly conveys the best characteristics of the grape that has given the D.O. Rueda its great reputation around the world.

Pale straw in the glass, this wine has aromas of grapefruit and chopped green herbs. It offers flavors of white peach, lemon-lime, dried hillside herbs and orange zest. It is bright on the palate from first sip through the vivid finish. — Mike DeSimone
