DOMAINE DU VIEUX TÉLÉGRAPHE CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE “TÉLÉGRAMME” 2022
$69.99
Born out of necessity back in 2002, one of the most difficult harvests in the modern Rhone, Telegramme was the declassified holdings from Vieux Telegraphe. The label became such a sensation, the Brunier family decided to continue making it. Now it mostly consists of younger vine fruit and the wine was geared towards a more approachable style that could be easily enjoyed in its youth. The 2022 vintage saw anotehr extreme weather event when a tornado ripped through “La Crau” damaging vines and tearing fruit off the vine. The Brunier family once again decided to declassify all remaining fruit into the Telegramme. The wine is classic Telegramme with its sexy red fruit and spice character. There is the shadow of Telegraphe with a touch more structure but still imbued with fine grain tannins. A really special bottle for those in the know.

Description
93, James Suckling
An elegant expression of grenache in Chateauneuf, this has a wealth of red berries and summer flowers. The very solid tannins have been expertly crafted, and they build beautifully in the long finish. Considering how the vineyards were hit by hail just before the harvest, this has turned out very well.
