The difficult process of blending 5 Wood involves carefully selecting and marrying whiskies that have been aged in different cask types, creating a harmonious and balanced final whisky. This technique allows the blender to create a whisky with a wide range of flavor profiles, combining the influences of multiple cask types. The resulting whisky is a complex interplay of fruity, spicy, oaky, and sweet notes, offering a unique tasting experience.

Component whiskies were individually matured in PX, bourbon, French oak, oloroso, and mizunara casks before blending. Complex fresh, floral, and fruity scents of lemon tart, candied orange peel, vanilla, melon, pear, and barley sugar, with aromatic traces of mizunara oak and bergamot. Lemon meringue pie, zesty orange, pepper, caramel, and peach flavors, with developing honey and baked orange notes. The mizunara character shines through in the long, silky finish of ripe summer fruits.
